Power Naps

I took a "power nap" before work this afternoon and it dawned on me on how inefficient they appear to be for a couple of reasons. 1) Power naps are supposed to be 15-20 minutes in length. I am wholly unable to accomplish this, because I never feel rested in 20 minutes, usually resulting in taking a full nap which ends up being around two hours, and 2) for that matter how can anyone be rested in such a minimal time frame. What does 20 minutes accomplish? There's no restful REM sleep taking place. I think there's some underlying placebo effect going with that notion. 3) If you oversleep the night prior (or whenever you actually do sleep), does a power nap work then, assuming you're tired because you slept too much? Which is a weird concept altogether. I mean, how does sleeping to alleviate drowsiness due to too much sleep have any chance of working? Which basically goes back to my original statement that paper naps don't work. Which now realizing that I have two essays and test tomorrow, I need a nap. A long one.
